DF Nucleo supplies a Mobile Air Traffic Control Tower to ASECNA at Douala International Airport, Cameroon.
- Madrid, Spain.
DF Núcleo has successfully delivered a mobile Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower to Douala International Airport, Cameroon, designed to replace any fixed control tower in the event of an emergency.
The mobile nature of the equipment, designed and manufactured by DF Núcleo, allows it to be used at airports in seven Central African countries (Cameroon, Gabon, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Chad, Central African Republic and Niger), whose airspace is managed by ASECNA, the Agency for Aerial Navigation Safety in Africa and Madagascar.

This mobile tower contains the systems that support aircraft traffic control within the ATZ (Aerodrome Traffic Zone) and CTR (Controlled Traffic Region) sectors: ULISES V5000i VoIP Communications Systems (VCCS), VHF, UHF and HF ground/air communication equipment, synchronisation and distribution time system, recorders, meteorological system, and the wireless and optical fibre connection with the technical block.
The supply comprises one ATC cabin with two operator positions. It is mounted on a transport platform, including the trailer and a hydraulic lifting system, as well as a power generation unit and an uninterruptible power supply system (UPS).
The ULISES V5000i system, designed and manufactured in full by DF Núcleo, manages critical ground/air and ground/ground communications for operators in all air traffic management environments.
DF Núcleo has an extensive industrial track record of almost forty years in the design and manufacture of mobile air traffic control towers for both civilian and military use. The company operates in Europe, Asia and America, as well as in Africa where it has executed around 50 projects in the aeronautical, maritime, security and defence, and industrial and environmental sectors.
