DFS Enhances NEWSIM ATCoach simulator at Munich Centre with UFAs ATVoice Voice Recognition and Response
DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH and UFA, INC. today announced that DFS will use UFAs industry-leading ATVoice product to add voice recognition and response capabilities to its ATCoach based NEWSIM Radar Simulator at Munich Centre.
The introduction of ATVoice allows DFS to support training for an increased number of students with the existing instructor and support staff. With voice recognition, trainees have greater access to simulation with the added benefit of reinforcing use of standard phraseology. Fully speaker-independent and supporting rapid speech, UFAs turnkey ATVoice product adds realism, ease of use, and flexibility to the students simulation exercises.
In Summer 2011, DFS will begin training Controllers at Munich Centre for the transition of upper airspace to Karlsruhe Centre. This influx of Controllers requires an increase in training capacity that is being addressed with the addition of voice recognition to the DFS Simulators. In addition to high fidelity real-time simulation, DFS is also evaluating the use of UFAs ATSpeakTM to further reinforce standard ATC phraseology.
The DFS NEWSIM Simulator with ATVoice can be seen at ATC Global on Stand H114 Hall 11, 8-10 March 2011 in Amsterdam. To schedule a meeting or demonstration at ATC Global, please contact one of the DFS or UFA representatives below.
