New International Contract for the ENAV Group - Contract signed with Nepal
The ENAV Group, the Italian Air Navigation Service Provider, continues its expansion in the international market, exporting its products and expertise in air traffic management.
Through its subsidiary IDS AirNav, a global leader in aeronautical information management systems, ENAV has signed a contract with a new client, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), for the supply and support of an advanced aeronautical information management system.
CAAN is responsible for civil aviation and air navigation services over approximately 150,000 square kilometers of airspace and on the 34 operational airports in Nepal.
The contract includes the deployment of the AMHS (Aeronautical Message Handling System) and CRONOS systems. CRONOS is a platform for the dissemination of aeronautical information such as NOTAMs (Notice To Air Men), which inform flight crews about route conditions, radio navigation aid efficiency, and any changes in the availability of airspace or runways in use, as well as weather data and pre-flight briefing bulletins.
CRONOS, a high-performance, high-availability digital archive, thanks to its integration with the AMHS messaging system, governs and facilitates the exchange of aeronautical information, making it easy to read and disseminate among all aviation stakeholders such as airports, airlines, air forces and weather services. The system is expected to be operational by 2025.
In 2024 ENAV has added several new international clients, including Fiji, the Dominican Republic, Tunisia, Kosovo, and Cambodia. In Italy ENAV also signed a contract with TELEDIFE (the IT, Telematics, and Advanced Technologies Directorate of the Italian Ministry of Defense) for the installation of a new radar system at the Sigonella Air Base.
