Esterline showcases market-leading ATC Displays and Remoting Technology at World ATM Congress
Esterline Corporation, a leading specialty manufacturer serving global aerospace and defense markets, will present its full range of ATC display systems at this week’s ATM Congress in Madrid. Among the highlights at the Esterline booth are the new ATC-ready 4Kx2K display, a dedicated display for ATC tower operators, featuring multi-touch control, and Esterline’s market-leading 2Kx2K display, including the NetViz At-The-Glass recording capabilities.
Over the last several years, Esterline has made solid investments in its advanced display business, making it the number one independent supplier of high-quality displays. The company recently inaugurated its refurbished local facilities in Kortrijk, Belgium, where a team of highly-trained engineers develops a broad range of advanced displays. Visitors to the ATM Congress will discover the firm’s full range of ATC display solutions and related technology.
New: 4Kx2K model and a dedicated display for ATC tower operators New to Esterline’s ATM booth is its 4Kx2K UHD display (MDP-843), which meets market demand for a widescreen alternative to the popular Codis 2Kx2K version. The new 4Kx2K main radar ensures outstanding optical quality and performance, easy integration and high availability – features that will be highly appreciated by end users as well as air navigation service providers.
Another newcomer in Madrid is the Codis TDC-361/TS LED display, specifically designed for ATC tower operators. Featuring a high-brightness LED backlight system and an integrated ambient light sensor, the display guarantees exceptional image quality under all ambient light conditions – a benefit that is combined with superior comfort. The optional multi-touch technology further boosts operator comfort.
Upgrades to the 2Kx2K bestseller At the heart of the Esterline booth is the popular Codis 2Kx2K Main Radar Display (MDP471/4). Experts will gladly demonstrate the exceptional brightness and contrast, wide viewing angle, noiseless design and low power consumption that make this ATC display Esterline’s bestseller. New developments like slim line mechanics (smaller bezel) and upgraded brightness bring added value to the solution.
NetViz technology helps reduce ATM costs Last year, the World ATM Congress in Madrid saw the première of Esterline’s NetViz technology with At-The-Glass recording capabilities. The technology takes center stage for a second year at the 2017 edition of the event. NetViz captures video, voice, metadata, etc. as closely as possible – at the glass – to the LCD monitor. It then allows images to be streamed with lossless compression and a low bandwidth to multicast IP addresses, so that the data can be recorded and viewed remotely at different locations simultaneously. NetViz can be built in or retrofitted into Codis ATC displays.
“ATC centers are under constant pressure to improve their performance, cut costs and collaborate more closely. Our Codis display systems for air traffic management (ATM) and air traffic control (ATC) are designed to help our customers face these challenges. They ensure optimum reading quality, reliability and user comfort at the lowest life cycle costs. In short, NetViz helps reduce ATM costs while optimizing ATM operations,” says Steven Luys, VicePresident Rugged & ATC Solutions.
