EUROCONTROL decreased Ukrainian share of contributions to budget

EUROCONTROL Member States unanimously supported Ukraine and voted for cutting the Ukrainian installment. According to the decision taken, Ukraine has to pay only the contribution for the 1st quarter of 2015, while the rest will be covered by EUROCONTROL special fund.

The final calculation of the Ukrainian contributions to the Agency budget for 2015 will be made in the 4th quarter of 2015. The estimated amount is EUR 200,000.00 while according to the method of calculation of the financial contribution our country was supposed to pay EUR 9.1 million.

UkSATSE director Dmytro Babeichuk reported, that management of the company had been negotiating this issue with EUROCONTROL representatives for more than half a year.

“During the last meeting of EUROCONTROL Provisional Council we managed to persuade the delegates from Member States to make an exception for our country and to decrease the Ukrainian share, taking into account the drop in traffic volume in the airspace of Ukraine. I would like to express the gratitude to all EUROCONTROL Member States for the solidarity and support of Ukraine” – said Dmytro BABEICHUK.

As we know, Ukraine has been a member of the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation since 2004. The annual contribution for each state is determined according to the reasonable criteria, which take into account the actual annual costs, incurred by the state two years ago, and the gross domestic product indicator of the country according to IMF.
