FREQUENTIS lands safely in Budapest
HungaroControl Pte. Ltd. Co. commissions Frequentis to reequip ACC Budapest
The communication facilities at ACC Budapest will be fully upgraded by 2009. Safe flight management depends on the implementation of the very highest technological standards. Frequentis, a specialist in communication and information systems for safety-critical applications, is HungaroControls partner on the refurbishment project.
HungaroControl Pte. Ltd. Co. is the Hungarian air navigation service provider. The organization operates one of Europes most modern air traffic management (ATM) systems. Hungary itself is a critical air traffic node for the continent, managing over 600,000 flights each year. Operational and economic efficiency, safety, and customer service are the principles driving HungaroControls ATM approach; principles which have helped the organization maintain high international quality standards.
To keep pace with the growing demands of air traffic management, HungaroControl places considerable emphasis on extensive employee training and high technological standards.
2009 will thus see the refurbishment of the communication facilities at ACC Budapest. HungaroControl and Frequentis signed the relevant contract at the beginning of April. The deliverables include the Frequentis Communications portfolio for ATM: a voice communication system (the well-established VCS 3020X with 45 main positions), a training system (15 positions), a recording facility (DIVOS 3 log) and a RES-Q radio backup system.
The EMTEL (Emergency Telephone System) is based on the VCX-network node, the first product worldwide that incorporated all main air traffic communications services. It is designed for mission critical applications and meets the Eurocontrol Cross-Border Communication recommendations. This particular solution has already proven its worth for the Swiss air navigation service provider.
The new contract is a key strategic success for the company. Were also continuing an honourable tradition, since ACC Budapest already used Frequentis systems, notes Dr. Christian Pegritz, Executive Board Member at Frequentis AG.
The new contract allows Frequentis to strengthen and expand their market position in central and south-eastern Europe. Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovakia and Slovenia already rely on failsafe systems from the company.
