FREQUENTIS supplies its VCS system for Belgrade ACC
Frequentis will supply a new VCS 3020X and DIVOS recording system to the Belgrade ACC, one of the largest air traffic control centres in the Balkans. SMATSA (Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Services Agency) has been a Frequentis client for many years. Frequentis places great importance on loyalty to the customer and professionalism in all its customer dealings.
SMATSA is Serbia and Montenegro's ANS provider and was founded by the respective state governments to develop, maintain and operate Serbia and Montenegros air traffic management.
As a EUROCONTROL member, SMATSA's tasks now include technical maintenance and development, training, meteorological services, flight inspection and calibration, and AIS/flight procedure design.
SMATSAs ACC project bears the acronym FAMUS (Future Air Traffic Management System Upgrade and Modernization Project). Frequentis is a subcontractor of Thales Air Systems SA, the company that has been awarded the FAMUS ATM systems contract that includes supplying both the new voice switching system and the recording system.
Within the next 18 months, Frequentis will deliver a solution consisting of a VCS 3020X with 63 working positions: this includes an integrated IP-backup system for phone calls. In addition, SMATSA will use a 3020X with 41 working positions as a backup radio system. A redundant DIVOS recording system will also be delivered: the system has over 900 channels and includes data storage facilities for archiving recorded information. A separate recorder system will record ambient noise in the controller room.
