After contract award by ARINC in 2006 to upgrade their voice service centers in San Francisco and New York with a new air-to-ground and ground-to-ground voice switch Frequentis completed installation of its latest voice communication system VCS3020 in August 2008. The new Frequentis system provides operators with a customized user interface and advanced audio functions improving operations and increasing efficiency.
Pilots flying over the Pacific or the North Atlantic benefit from the improved voice communication services provided by the newly installed Frequentis VCS3020 voice communication system installed at ARINCs service centers in San Francisco and New York.
In September 2006, ARINC contracted Frequentis USA Incorporated with the delivery of the New Integrated Telephone and Radio Control Communication System (ICS). The New ICS System uses the reliable Frequentis VCS3020 voice communication system which is being installed in the FAAs TRACON and Tower communications facilities and NASAs space operations centers. The New ICS allows airlines to directly communicate with their pilots during flight and provides air traffic services over oceanic air space. We selected the VCS3020 from Frequentis because of its proven reliability, cutting edge technology and enormous versatility. From the start the partnership of our two companies was a natural fit. The New ICS system will contribute dramatically to service level enhancements of our service centers states Mr. Michael Belt, Senior Manager, RF Engineering at ARINC.
