EAD - The World's Largest Aeronautical Information System Based on FREQUENTIS Technology - Welcomes 350th Committed Client Organisation
“At the time of its launch 10 years ago, the European Aeronautical Information System Database (EAD) was, in its own way, revolutionary.” (EUROCONTROL)
Today EAD is more revolutionary and attractive for clients than ever before. With its broad and constantly growing base of committed customers, EAD maintains its undisputed position as the world’s largest AIM system.
EAD is the world’s largest aeronautical information management (AIM) system: a system owned by EUROCONTROL, developed by Frequentis and jointly operated by GroupEAD Europe S.L. and Frequentis, based on strict adherence to the highest EUROCONTROL quality standards. A centralised reference database of quality-assured aeronautical information and a fully-integrated, state-of-the-art AIM solution form EAD’s strong backbone.
With the recent client organisations enlisting to become data users in May 2014 (three airlines from Azerbaijan), EAD has reached the milestone of 350 committed client organisations. An overview of committed client organisations now includes:
· 90 airlines
· 72 Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs)/Civil Aviation Authorities (CAAs)
· 12 military organisations
· 10 airports
· 10 registered EAD software developers
· 8 EUROCONTROL organisations
· 148 other data users
In its eleventh year the growth rate of the EAD user base was 28% per year on average. The number of new clients per year is unchanged since 2007, proving the unbroken attractiveness of EAD. With the upcoming adaptations for Aeronautical Data and Information Quality (ADQ) and Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM) 5.1, EAD addresses current market needs and remains the world’s largest AIM system.
