EUROCONTROL and FREQUENTIS extend long-term contract for air traffic surveillance solution

- Vienna, Austria.

Frequentis Comsoft has been awarded a two-year industrial partner contract extension, continuing their long-standing relationship with EUROCONTROL. The renewed contract ensures continuous support and upgrades for ARTAS (ATM surveillance tracker and server) to meet evolving demands.

The CAMOS contract (Centralised ARTAS Maintenance and Operational Support – Industrial Partner) involves the maintenance and operational support for the ARTAS system. ARTAS is the most widely deployed tracker in Europe and is recognised as one of the most advanced and mature surveillance data processing systems worldwide.

“ARTAS is critical for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of air traffic management systems across Europe. The contract renewal reflects EUROCONTROL's confidence in Frequentis Comsoft's expertise and its commitment to supporting our ARTAS roadmap and advancing the ARTAS tracker,” says Antonio Principe, EUROCONTROL ARTAS and SDDS Services Manager.

Developed by EUROCONTROL on behalf of their member states, ARTAS employs the latest multi-sensor tracking technology to deliver exceptional accuracy and reliability using PSR, SSR, Mode-S, ADS-B, and multilateration surveillance sources. The system supports around 90% of daily flight movements in Europe and is deployed at approximately 100 locations.

"We are honoured to be entrusted once again by EUROCONTROL for the CAMOS project," says Constantin von Reden, Frequentis Comsoft Managing Director, and Member of the Frequentis OneATM Executive Team. "This contract renewal highlights the strength of our partnership and our shared dedication to enhancing the safety and efficiency of air traffic management in Europe. Our team is committed to delivering the highest standards of support and innovation to ensure the continued success of the ARTAS system."
