Helios boosts Ops and Safety expertise

Helios, the aviation consultancy of Egis, announced today that ops and safety experts Garyth Lofthouse and Huw Ross have joined its consultancy team.

Garyth Lofthouse comes with a wealth of experience in the aviation industry spanning 30 years, having joined the industry as a recreational pilot before becoming an Air Traffic Controller. He has extensive experience working with tower, approach and area units in the UK and overseas including most recently in the Middle East, and therefore possesses an in-depth knowledge of both national and international air traffic control regulation. 

His experience includes airport master planning, airspace design, Instrument Flight Procedure design and airport safe guarding, working in both operations and consultancy. Garyth comments: “I am already enjoying meeting Helios’ clients and working on operational improvement projects with the airport team”. 

Huw Ross is an experienced air traffic management professional, having worked over 12 years in the industry delivering safety, operational, and business improvement projects for airports and air navigation service providers.

His experience includes writing safety cases to manage the risks associated with large projects, including the transfer of air traffic control operations to a new a site, and the introduction of new technology and airspace changes. Huw specialises in safety risk management and is also an experienced safety trainer.
