New IFPD service for airports

Aviation consultancy Helios is partnering with LPS SR, the Slovak air navigation service provider, to offer a full instrument flight procedures design (IFPD) service for conventional and PBN procedures.

The new service can help with design, flight validation and safety assessment of a single IFP or a suite of IFPs associated with a runway, redevelopment of airspace or the adoption of new technology. All procedures will comply with ICAO 8168 criteria and respective national legislation.

LPS have in the past provided Instrument Flight Procedure Design services to other European airports. Commenting on the development, Helios Director of Airports Steve Leighton said: “Added to our other airport consulting expertise this means we are now capable of providing a comprehensive multi-disciplinary service. Our experience of supporting the world’s largest airports right through to the smallest and most remote means we can draw on relevant skills that meet the specific needs of many airports today.”
