IHS Jane’s ATC Awards 2014

- London, UK

IHS Jane’s Airport Review is proud to announce that the most respected globalATC awards event will celebrate its 14th year in Madrid on the 3 March 2014. The award winners will be announced during the CANSO ATM Dinner, taking place on the night before the

World ATM Congress

(4-6 March 2014) operated by CANSO in association with ATCA.

As in every year since they were launched, the IHS Jane’s ATC Awards 2014 will recognise the best achievements by industry and ANSPs over the past year.

For the 2014 event we would like you to highlight your innovative and collaborative work by submitting nominations over the next few weeks. Which projects do you think have been most significant in terms of improving safety, capacity and efficiency?

The awards celebrate improvements  in 2013 across seven categories that are crucial to the future of the industry:

·Environment – (to recognise work on 'green' air traffic management concepts) 2013 Winner GE Aviation, LAN Airlines, CORPAC , DGAC

·Enabling Technology – (for contribution to enhanced capacity and safety)

2013 Winner NATS, Lockheed Martin and Altran

·Service Provision – (for contribution to safe and efficient airspace management)

2013 Winner Federal Aviation Administration ATO

·Industry – (reflecting a significant contribution by equipment suppliers)

2013 Winner Honeywell Aerospace

·Innovation  (for small enterprises that have raised ATM performance) 2013 Winner  International Aeronavigation Systems

·NEW for 2014! Terminal Area and Runway Efficiency - (recognising efforts to improve operations on the surface and in the terminal area)

Entries are free of charge and are open to companies involved in all areas of the industry, whether they are national air navigation service providers, large-scale industry partnerships or new entrants to the sector. Entries are limited to one per company (unless part of a larger team) and the deadline for nominations is 30 November 2013.

Nominations will be assessed by a panel of experienced judges from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers’ Associations (IFATCA), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Eurocontrol, CANSO, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and IHS Jane's. Winners will be selected from a shortlist and announced in an awards ceremony during the CANSO ATM Dinner on 4 March.

We hope you take the opportunity to highlight the most important airspace management projects. The air transport industry is under pressure to deliver more for less, and encouraging innovation is key to achieving this.
