Managed-AIS eAIP software passes final acceptance in Taiwan
The apsXML eAIP software from aeronautical information software and services specialists Managed-AIS has continued to consolidate its position as the world's most widely used eAIP software. The software has been accepted in Taiwan as part of an Air Traffic Management (ATM) system installed by Thales Australia.
The apsXML eAIP system was selected by Thales and approved by the Taiwanese authorities as a proven system for electronic AIP production. The system is in use around the globe for day to day eAIP and AIP production. Taiwan is one of several countries with an existing eAIP to have opted for apsXML.
The completion of the project brought a number of important landmarks for the eAIP system. The system moved to the latest version of Adobe FrameMaker during the project, allowing it to take advantage of support for unicode character sets. This in turn allowed the production of a dual language English-Mandarin eAIP, a first for the system.
apsXML remains the world's most widely used software for eAIP production. Using ICAO figures as a basis, half of all states with an eAIP use the system and over half of states moving towards an eAIP are using the system.
