Manchester Airport Group selects Precision Applications recording solutions.
Precision Applications Veristore recording solutions have been selected by three airports within the Manchester Airports Group (MAG). MAG is the UKs largest British-owned airport operator and their airports currently serve a total of over 23.9 million passengers each year.
The Veristore Recording Systems will ensure that the airports are fully compliant with the latest requirements for recording communication and surveillance information, as laid down by both ICAO and UK CAA CAP 670. Voice Channels, through the wall and at the glass radar data will all be recorded and available for synchronous replay should there be a need to investigate an incident.
The first system has recently been installed and is now fully operational at Manchester Airport, which handles around 19 million passengers each year, flying to and from 200 different destinations. NATS (Services) Ltd., who are responsible for Air Traffic Services at Manchester, worked with Precision Applications to complete the installation and commissioning of the system.
East Midlands Airport has placed an order for Veristore Voice and Data Recorders to be integrated with their Veristore Screen Capture Recording System, which was installed last year and has been successfully used to assist with the installation and commissioning of a new radar system. The truly modular design of Veristore Recording Systems means the integration of the new recorders will be a straightforward task. East Midlands Airport not only handles approximately 4.5 million passengers each year but is also the busiest UK airport for pure freight and mail.
The new system at Humberside Airport will be installed within the next few weeks and will ensure that the airport is fully compliant with the new regulations for surveillance recording when they come into force on January 1st 2012. Not only do almost half a million passengers use Humberside Airport each year to travel to more than 20 destinations but the airport is also the second largest heliport in the UK serving the offshore industry in the North Sea.
Precision Applications guarantee to support their equipment for a minimum period of ten years and offer comprehensive Support Contracts for all of their products. The combination of an in-service life in excess of ten years and the attractive pricing of the Maintenance Contracts will enable MAG to maintain their Veristore Recording Systems in an efficient and cost effective manner whilst experiencing a significantly lower cost of ownership than other recording systems on the market.
