Metron Aviation Announces Industry-Leading Team for FAA Systems Engineering 2020
Metron Aviation announces the formation of its core team for the FAA Systems Engineering 2020 (SE-2020) Research & Development/Mission Analysis small business opportunity. SE-2020 encompasses the FAAs primary NextGen research and systems engineering support contracts that will support future air transportation safety, capacity, efficiency and environmental goals.
Metron Aviation, as prime contractor, has assembled a core team with unparalleled domain expertise and track records in the U.S. National Airspace System (NAS), consisting of Metron Aviation, Flatirons Solutions, CSSI and Sensis. Our team members possess the knowledge, trusted expertise and proven performance needed to implement key NextGen solutions in the NAS, stated Jack Kies, President of Metron Aviation. Most importantly, our organizations share the highest levels of commitment and dedication to the success of the FAA and NextGen. The team chosen for the SE-2020 Research and Development/Mission Analysis Support Set-Aside will perform the research, concept exploration and development needed to advance NextGen under the FAAs SE-2020 initiative. The scope of work will include modeling, simulation, prototyping and operational demonstrations of NextGen capabilities. Weve assembled a team that offers high value, low risk and innovative solutions to the FAA, said Jim Gaughan, SVP and General Manager of Advanced Research and Engineering Services at Metron Aviation. Individually, our team members have direct experience and have made significant contributions to the NAS and towards NextGen capabilities. Collectively, we are positioned to help the FAA successfully transform todays air traffic management systems to meet the safety, capacity and environmental goals of NextGen.
