Micro Nav Secures Contract with NATS Limited for Birmingham Airport
NATS (Services) Limited has awarded Micro Nav Ltd with a contract to supply their 2D Tower Simulator with two BEST Tower Controllers and two BEST Tower Pseudo Pilots for Birmingham Airport.
Micro Navs BEST ATC simulator system is a scalable solution that addresses ATC and Air Defence training. Micro Nav will be supplying NATS with a 2D tower simulator which is designed to support tower, ground, approach and area training. In addition to area surveillance display the 2D solution provides a plan view of the airfield and accurately maps the ground movements of aircraft and vehicles along the taxiways and runways.
BEST tower simulation systems are suitable for all tower training.
The 2D tower simulator will be ready for training in November this year.
Birmingham Airport is the UKs third largest airport outside of London and handles nine million passengers a year to more than 140 direct destinations. It is currently extending its runway to allow aircraft to fly further from the Midlands. Once complete, aircraft will be able to fly direct to the Far East, the Americas and South Africa without stopping.
