Northrop Grumman Wins Air Traffic Control Industry Award for Innovative Airport Realtime Collaboration Capability
Northrop Grumman Corporationhas received a Jane's ATC Global Award for its Airport Realtime Collaboration (ARC) capability in recognition of the contribution it has made to the air traffic control industry. The industry category award for the most significant contribution made by an equipment supplier was announced at the ATC Global 2012 exhibition and conference in Amsterdam.
We are delighted to win such a prestigious award for this important capability development and the contribution it makes to improving airport efficiency, said Charles Houseago, managing director of Northrop Grummans airport systems group. This comes at a very exciting time for us as the product offering is now enhanced to include a new ARC Passenger Flow Module and an analytical element to help create an accurate view of how airport operations are performing.
Airport Realtime Collaboration (ARC) is a suite of IT systems and professional services to support information sharing and collaboration at airports. ARC is designed to provide the airport community with more accurate and timely information for enhanced decision making and improved coordination of airport operations. The ARC technology uses existing infrastructure to deliver a common situational awareness picture through web-based geographical and tabular views of the airfield operations. ARCs processes, and suite of complementary professional services delivered by experienced airport practitioners, can be optimised to combine industry best practices with local airport needs.
