Office National Des Aéroports in Morocco relies on the FREQUENTIS AIM System
The Office National Des Aéroports (ONDA) has asked Frequentis to provide Casablanca with a redundant aeronautical information management (smartAIM) system. The new AIM system will be synchronised with the European AIS Database (EAD) and is expected to go operational in the second half of 2010.
Moroccos ONDA has awarded Frequentis the contract for a fully integrated AIM system. The new system is fully compatible with the ongoing SESAR Joint Undertaking Programme, and is based on the AIXM standard. It will ensure superior data quality and consistency.
ONDA will use smartAIMs static data management capabilities in conjunction with various other system features, including GIS visualisation and editing (smartDM), publication tools (chart production - smartCharting and eAIP production - smartAIP), publication management, NOTAM and METEO management, and briefing (smartINMO).
Air traffic controllers will profit from an AIM platform which is based on the very highest technical standards (like AIXM) and is fully compatible with System Wide Information Management (SWIM) principles. The data centre is situated in Casablanca and hosts Moroccos own data repositories. The system will support full information exchange with EAD for appropriate data transfer in the future.
