Taiwan chooses innovative R&S Series5200 ATC radios from Rohde & Schwarz
The new CERTIUM radios will provide Taiwanese airports with reliable communications and the highest level of security.
The Air Navigation and Weather Services (ANWS) of Taiwan chose Rohde & Schwarz to equip the nation’s airports with reliable communications and the highest level of security in case of emergencies. Rohde & Schwarz has provided a large number of the most innovative air traffic control (ATC) radio on the market, the R&S Series5200, alongside the company’s workhorse, the R&S Series4200 software defined radio, antenna multi-couplers and antennas, and remote control units, all part of CERTIUM, an advanced communications suite for ATC from the microphone to the antenna.
“This contract underscores our commitment at Rohde & Schwarz to providing uncompromising quality to our customer and partner ANWS,” Marius Münstermann, Vice President Market Segment ATC at Rohde & Schwarz, explains. “ANWS is already using our CERTIUM VCS voice communications system at several airports. Both the R&S Series5200 and R&S Series4200 radios are ideal for seamless system integration and effortless maintenance.”
The new R&S Series5200 radios represent the next generation of VHF and UHF radios for ATC communications, increasing system reliability with a new security-by-design architecture to make air travel even more secure. The radios are future-proof and later system expansions will require no additional hardware thanks to the software defined radio concept.
