Rohde & Schwarz is pleased to announce the successful deployment and final acceptance of the R&S AVQA advanced voice quality assurance system, now fully operational already for a few months. This groundbreaking solution is set to transform voice communication monitoring within the Air Navigation Services of the Czech Republic (ANS CR), ensuring compliance with the stringent ED137 standard.

With R&S AVQA, ANS CR gains unparalleled insights into critical VoIP parameters vital for assessing voice quality. R&S AVQA goes beyond traditional network tools that focus solely on general IP parameters. It uniquely provides criteria relevant to ED137, eliminating time-consuming investigations into IP streams. The system delivers a real-time picture of their operational network quality, empowering users to maintain optimal voice service with ease.

Operating R&S AVQA marks a significant advancement for ANS CR, enabling continuous monitoring of VoIP quality across their voice communication network. This system is particularly crucial during the testing phase of new VoIP systems, as it facilitates swift identification and resolution of impairments, ultimately enhancing operational efficiency and reliability in air traffic management.

“The journey to this successful deployment began with the signing of the contract on January 31, 2024, and only took 9 months, culminating in the final acceptance protocol on October 31, 2024,” explains Pavel Salanda, Managing Director of Rohde & Schwarz Czechia. “This project not only underscores Rohde & Schwarz’ commitment to delivering innovative solutions but also highlights our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of the aviation industry.

“I am thrilled to have the R&S AVQA advanced voice quality assurance system in operation as it enhances our voice communication monitoring capabilities. I cannot imagine rolling out new Voice over IP systems without such a diagnostic system,” Jan Klas, CEO of ANS CR, said. “With R&S AVQA, we will be able to maintain optimal voice quality effortlessly, enhancing operational efficiency and reliability in air traffic management. This significant advancement is a testament to our commitment to innovation and excellence in air navigation services.”
