Searidge Launches Enhanced Airport Vision Display for Optimized Surface Management and Remote Towers
Ultra HD video system provides comprehensive situational awareness of the airport surface
Searidge Technologies, provider of surface management solutions to Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) and airports, announced the launch of their Enhanced Airport Vision Display (EAVD) for airport surface management and remote towers.
EAVD is a highly advanced, customizable Human Machine Interface (HMI) that integrates day/night visible, thermal and pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras to seamlessly display multiple sources of real-time information to air traffic controllers and airport operations staff (e.g. Ramp management, security, resource management, etc.). Video images from distributed cameras are stitched together and run through sophisticated algorithms to offer a seamless panoramic view of the surface presented on as many or as few monitors required by the customer.
The Searidge EAVD supports the latest technology including ultra HD resolutions (4K), is camera and platform agnostic and offers some of the fastest processing capabilities on the market. The system also allows for video data overlays or augmented reality which adds valuable static and dynamic information to the video such as thumbnail images of targets on the surface, aircraft ID, target type, destination, gates, runway outlines, service roads etc. to deliver comprehensive situational awareness of the airport’s surface.
"Searidge initially provided us with their remote apron management system. The flexibility and usability of EAVD allowed us to tailor features ranging from viewing options to user controls." says Robert Sant, Chief Operating Officer, Malta Air Traffic Services. "The significant benefits the system brought to our operation led Malta ATS to leverage and scale the system in order to achieve an airport-wide low-cost ground surveillance system.”
“Our goal with EAVD was to combine the safety and reliability of our ATC Grade video platform, the most widely deployed video platform in ATC today – and the most innovative elements of intelligent video technology available on the market, from ULTRA HD to advanced image-processing, and rapid real-time compression techniques. In achieving this goal, we believe that for ANSPs considering video technology EAVD provides a robust, scalable platform that will meet today's operational needs and support the evolution of tower operations well into the future, ” says Alex Sauriol, Executive Vice President ATM/Airport Technology, Searidge Technologies.
Built with a flexible interface for easy integration with other ATC/airport systems, EAVD can solve a multitude of airport challenges including elimination of blind spots, incursion prevention, hotspot monitoring, remote tower services, and perimeter surveillance.
The Searidge Enhanced Airport Vision Display is currently available and operational in airports in North America, Europe and the Middle East.
