Searidge Technologies and Ottawa International Airport Authority Enter Strategic Partnership
ntegrated Airport Operations Center to improve efficiency and collaboration at YOW
Dubai Airport Show Stand 6300. Searidge Technologies, provider of collaborative surface management solutions to Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) and airports, announced that they have entered into a strategic partnership with Ottawa International Airport Authority (OIAA) to create a technologically advanced integrated airport operations center at Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport (YOW).
Using Searidge’s marketing leading video platform and advanced integration services, Searidge will work with OIAA to integrate all airport information sources including real-time surface management data, air traffic control data, and airport-centric data, into a single user interface. The resulting system will help YOW streamline decision making and enable the airport to better manage critical situations, while positioning them for growth and greater capacity demands.
“Our joint objective is to create an integrated airport system that will position YOW for future growth and expansion and provide passengers and visitors to our city with a superior travel experience,” says Mark Laroche, President and CEO, Ottawa International Airport Authority. “This collaborative approach will enable our staff to better deliver safe, reliable services more efficiently.”
Searidge will pull information from various data sources including flight information display systems (FIDS), airport operations database (OADB), CCTV security video, alarm/security information, ATM/ATC data (e.g. flight plan data to allow for accurate arrival and departure reporting) and presents it to operators in a fully customizable interface. The information is presented in layers allowing users to toggle between information sources as needed instead of accessing it through disparate/siloed systems. The result is more effective management of ground traffic, improved traffic flow, increased situational awareness and reduced communication.
“We believe an integrated system of this type is the direction of the future,” says Moodie Cheikh, Chief Executive Officer, Searidge Technologies. “This partnership with Ottawa International Airport Authority will provide us an opportunity to showcase our local airport as an innovation center, a technology-advanced hub that is safe, efficient and delivers world class customer service. This project will also allow us to demonstrate the benefits an integrated approach can offer to YOW and other airports around the world.”
