SITTI helps recovery of Libya
Lybia has undergone a long period of instability and internal struggles, but it is now rapidly recovering and reconstructing its infrastructures. To allow commercial contact with the rest of the world and to set the basis for successful cooperation with other countries, air traffic control shall be restored to its full capacity.
SITTI was involved in partnership with Technosky in this project to provide Libya with the installation, configuration, setting up, integration, and commissioning of 3 M800IP® Voice Communication Systems (VCS) to be deployed at Tripoli and Misurata International Airports and the Tripoli Backup ACC system. The new MULTIFONO® M800IP® VCSs provided by SITTI give full compliance to the most recent standard’s provisions in the Air Traffic Control and Management field, namely ED-136, ED-137, and ED-138.
Both analogue and VoIP (Voice over IP) radios can be seamlessly interfaced thanks to the legacy-to-VoIP features natively provided by SITTI boards. The VCS is in fact fully using VoIP for the management of voice and related protocols and signaling.
This means that Libya will install the most technologically advanced systems for the control of its airspace in conjunction with 2 newly developed VRS800G Voice Recording Systems produced by SITTI.
These systems will record all ED137 and analogue radio and VCS streams through a redundant server solution. Playback will be performed by a recording client via a secure and easily accessible web interface.
The supply is complemented by 2 crash phone systems (M803IP) which allow the handling of hazardous emergency situations. Last, but not least, SITTI is also going to install a total of 10 controller working positions (CWP) that provide air traffic controllers with the best ergonomic and functional access to the communications and control tools they have to utilize.
SITTI is a primary VCS manufacturer and supplier worldwide, providing prompt and cutting edge solutions to Customer needs, both in the Civilian and Military fields. The leading edge, redundant, non-blocking architecture of the MULTIFONO® M800IP® provides flexibility and modularity for easy expansion and addition of further functionalities.
