Systems Interface complete Kopitnari International Airport navaids upgrade on time in budget
Systems Interface, based in the UK, has again demonstrated their ability to deliver complex projects on time and in budget at international airports around the world by completing the installation of NAVAIDS at Kopitnari International Airport, Kutaisi, Georgia, for Sakaeronavigatsia Limited.
Systems Interface has supplied, commissioned and installed; two Park Air Systems ILS (Instrument Landing Systems), two Moog Fernau DME (Distance Measuring Equipment), one Indra DVOR (Doppler VHF Omni Range transmitter), the airport became operational in September 2012.

Kopitnari International Airport is located 14 km west of Kutaisi, the second city in Georgia and capital of the western region of Imereti, will soon to become the home of the Georgian Parliament when it relocates from Tbilisi.
With the upgrade of the airport to CAT 1, allowing the landing of 737 and A320 type aircraft, Kopitnari (Kutaisi) will become the centre of aviation in Georgia attracting high-quality, low-cost air carriers such as WizzAIR, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Easter Europe who have commenced flights between Kiev and Kutaisi.
