TTCAA and DC‐ANSP Sign Historic Agreement to Enable Collaboration and Cooperation in the Caribbean
IDS is pleased to announce that the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority (TTCAA) and Dutch Caribbean Air Navigation Service Provider (DC‐ANSP) signed a
historic agreement during the Fifth Meeting of the North American, Central American and Caribbean Directors of Civil Aviation (NACC/DCA/5).
The Letter of Intent agreement was made in coordination with their mutual partner IDS Tech Inc. in order to sanction the creation of a plan to implement an Aeronautical Data Sharing agreement and Failover/Disaster Recovery plan based on the IDS Dynamic AIM system. The purpose of this would be to implement the first step in regional collaboration and cooperation between Air Navigation Service
Providers in the Caribbean with a view to establish an integrated airspace concept based on AIM.
This initial phase seeks to establish a AIM collaboration in the Caribbean region and the plan shall be designed with the consideration of expanding to additional Caribbean states in the future.
"This initiative is the first of its type in the region and supports the concepts of collaboration and coordination that have been advocated by ICAO and CANSO for many years and we are pleased to be a part of this opportunity. We hope that many initiatives will follow in the future" said Mrs. Micilia Albertus‐Verboom, Director General of DC‐ANSP.
The Director General of TTCAA, Mr. Ramesh Lutchmedial echoed that sentiment stating "The TTCAA has been supporting the concept of collaboration through automation for many years by providing services for the ECAR region. This program will allow TTCAA to further our experience and expertise by working with another state to increase coordination between FIRs as well. We hope that it helps to initiate the growth of air transport in the Caribbean".
