Ukraine Awards Adacel Contract to Supply MaxSim ATC Simulators
Adacel announced today it has been awarded a contract from the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Service Enterprise for the provision of a network of Air Traffic Control simulators to be installed at locations throughout Ukraine.
Under the terms of the contract, Adacel will supply one full-sized 360-degree MaxSim control tower simulator, nine smaller footprint MaxSim tower simulators and nine detailed airport visual databases. The ATC simulators will be distributed to the UkSATSE Training and Certification Center in Kyiv and to seven key airports throughout Ukraine, including international airports at Donetsk, Lviv, Kharkiv and Kyiv that will host the European Football Championship EURO2012.
The Adacel simulators will be used to conduct both initial ATC training at the training center as well as operational unit training at the selected airport locations. Deploying various configurations of Adacels MaxSim ATC simulators to both training academies and operational airport locations is becoming increasingly popular as Air Navigation Service Providers move to expand training throughput and efficiency.
"No such advanced ATC simulators are currently available in Ukraine. The installation at our locations will lead to federation of the ATC training process of Ukrainian air traffic controllers with the one provided in other European countries. We are looking forward to the first installation this summer. The deployment of such high level simulators will enable the improvement of the ATC personnel training by making it realistic and efficient," stated Vitalii Potemskyi, Director UkSATSE Training and Certification Centre.
Ukraine has joined a growing group of European nations including Italy, Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia who have entrusted us to provide the ATC simulator backbone for their training efforts, said Cyrille Jodas, Adacels VP International Simulation & Training. Europe is a key area in our global strategy and we are excited to work with our European customers to provide the tools they need to train their next generation of operational controllers.
Adacels ATC simulation systems have proven to be very effective in developing higher proficiency levels at an earlier stage in controller training. They reduce considerably the work involved in the conduct of training and can significantly decrease the length of the qualification period for controllers. The MaxSim ATC simulators have also proven to be a valuable tool to enable prior testing and training for procedural changes necessitated by temporary and permanent alterations to airports and airspace.
