Intelcan - ASECNA: Succesful factory acceptance of the meteorological switching systems
INTELCAN achieved a major milestone by successfully completing the Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for eight Meteorological Message Switching systems to be installed on sites in Antananarivo, (Madagascar), Bamako (Mali), Cotonou (Benin), Niamey (Niger), Lomé (Togo), N’Djamena (Chad), Nouakchott (Mauritania), Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) and one remote monitoring and supervision system in Dakar (Senegal), all member countries of the Agency for the Safety of Air Navigation in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA).
The testing was conducted at Intelcan’s facility in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and witnessed by engineer representatives from ASECNA who were impressed by the quality of the integration and the accuracy of the system design.
The Meteorological Message Switching Systems Replacement Programme for ASECNA is challenging due to the geographical spread of the project and the adaptation to the existing communication Infrastructure. However Intelcan’s team of experts working together with the ASECNA Engineers was a winning combination.
"This has been a real team effort and I’m delighted that ASECNA recognizes the importance of this major milestone. The new equipment will have a colossal impact on the daily operation of the West African Meteorological centers", says Michael Lang, Intelcan Chief Operating Officer.
